Quick Help

This page is here for people currently in the Registration/Remediation process. It has step-by-step, quick instructions. If at any time you need more in-depth help, there are many helpful links to the left of this page.

1. Connect to either the hardwired ethernet jack, or the 'UTC' SSID on the wireless network, depending on location.
2. Try to visit any web page you want.
3. Accept the certificate.
4. Click the link under UTC Users
5. Enter your UTCID, password and pick the appropriate choice from the drop down menu.
6. Click the Download button.
7. Click on the link to download the file.
8. Save the file to the hard disk.
9. Find where you saved the file and double-click it to run it.
10. For Mac and Linux, you are done. For Windows, continue on.
11. Complete the steps of the installer to install the client.
12. Log in to the client and let it scan your computer.
13. If you pass the scan, you are done. If you don't pass the scan, continue on.
14. The client will tell you what you failed for. Click the link to find instructions on what needs to be updated/installed.
15. Once you have updated/installed everything that needs to be done, you can rescan your computer by trying to go to any webpage and then clicking on the rescan button on the bottom of the resulting page.
