Welcome to NetAccess
Welcome to The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Residential Networks website. This site is here to help students living in the dorms as well as anyone that uses the main campus wireless network to get and stay connected to the internet. Here you will find help with keeping your computer clean and up to date. You can find all the information you need using the menus at the left of the page. The rest of this page will be used for important notices.
Changes
8/8/07 - 9:52pm
For the students that have lived in the dorms before, you will notice a lot of changes. For new students, and for the wireless users on the main campus this is all new. It might seem like a lot to do to have to install software on your computer just to use the internet, but we believe that this will help minimize problems and headaches that can arise. In a way it forces you to keep your computer up-to-date and clean from viruses and spyware. This helps ensure that your internet experience is at its best and that your computer is operational when you need it most.
Routers, switches, and hubs in the dorms
8/8/07 - 10:02pm
For students in the dorms: Routers are not allowed on the network. The new registration system checks for these and you will lose your network connection. The software should let you know if this is why you cannot access the internet.
We are still in the process of testing whether or not we will be able to support switches and hubs. As of right now they do not work on the network. If you are having problems accessing the internet, please remove the device from the network and plug your computer directly into the wall jack.
